Why:
Indian People Organizing for Change along with Vallejo
Intertribal/SSP&RIT
joined in a journey of walk and prayer to remember
our ancestors that lived on this land for thousands
of years. The walk was led by
traditional Native American leaders and Nipponzan Myohoji
Buddhist. We
walked and prayed with our ancestors in areas where
shellmounds and sacred sites have been desecrated by
development.
Thank
you for your many donations! Without
your support, the Walk could not have
happened! For...
• Places for people to stay the night at our destinations.
• Groups who provided evening meals.
• Water for the walkers
• Financial donations to purchase supplies.
• The use of vans and/or trucks
to assist in transporting walkers and the elderly.
• Drivers to shuttle walkers occasionally when needed.
• Food, rain gear, garbage
bags, umbrellas, big plastic containers for food and supplies, bungee cords,
tarps...
(For your donations at the Community
Potluck and Blessing on Sunday evening,
November 6, 4-7pm, International Friendship
House, 523 International Blvd, Oakland.)
